Pesticides Banned at Schools in Connecticut!
On June 5, 2007 the Connecticut House of Representatives passed HB 5234, An Act Banning Pesticide Use on School Grounds with an overwhelming 140-9 vote. The bill would phase out the use of lawn pesticides in primary and middle schools up to 8th grade. The bill will now be sent to Governor Rell's desk to be signed into law.

Congratulations to the newest Green Flag School, Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory
School from Indianapolis, IN! With the completion of the School Environment
Survey and formation of their Green Flag Team, Brebeuf Jesuit completed Level 1 of the Green Flag program. Special recognition goes out to the conservation club's efforts towards recycling, tree planting, beautification projects, and education through presentations on green building and alternative energy sources.
