Local School Receives National Environmental Award
WHAT: Southeast Elementary School is receiving
a national award for its outstanding environmental work. The school
is one of more than a dozen schools that are receiving awards as part of
the national launch of the Green Flag Program. The student-driven Green Flag
Program will award Southeast Elementary School for completing the 3rd level
of the Reduce, Reuse, Recycle program, and will hold an award ceremony featuring
students, teachers, local leaders.

Mrs. Norma Fisher-Doiron, Principal of Southeast Elementary School
Mrs. Virginia Walton, Town of Mansfield Recycling Officer
Mr. Mickey Maheu, Mansfield Teacher and Green Flag Committee Coordinator
Mr. Dermot Pelletier, Green Flag Program Committee Member
Green Thumbs Club Students will participate in the local ceremony at Southeast
Elementary School.

DIRECTIONS:
Southeast Elementary School:
From Interstate 84: Take exit 68 (Tolland, Mansfield) onto Rt. 195 South
towards the University of Connecticut (UConn). Continue on Rt. 195
approximately 3½ miles past the UConn campus. Turn left onto Rt. 89
North at the traffic light. Southeast Elementary School is approximately
½ mile on the right, past the Mansfield Library.
