The Green Flag Program, Parents, and Teachers

The Green Flag Program works closely with the PTA and other parent and teacher organizations at the local, state, and national level.  We can provide you with the materials and guidance you need to get started on improving environmental health in your school.  With advance notice, we are able to present or provide trainings on children's environmental health issues in schools and/or the Green Flag Program to your local unit, or at a regional or state conference.  Contact Us to learn more.

Here are just a couple of the ways we are partnering with the PTA:

PTA names CHEJ as a key resource for improving environmental health in schools on their Issues and Action, School Modernization and Environmental Health web page.

PTA sends 30,000 Green Flag brochures to schools across the country in the PTA Back to School Packet.  Check your school's packet or contact us to request a free brochure.

The PTA has taken a leadership role in advocating for safe and healthy school environments, adopting official position statements and/or resolutions on issues concerning Environmental Health and Safety, School Buildings' and Portable Classrooms' Indoor Air Quality, School Facilities, School Health Councils, and others.

The Green Flag Program is a project of the national Child Proofing Our Communities Campaign,

coordinated by the Center for Health Environment and Justice.
